Diproduksi kisaran tahun 1977 (Sony membuat 2 Model yakni TA-E88 untuk pasar Domestic Japan (100V) dan TA-E88B untuk pasar EROPA (220V)
Dengan design yg cukup berkelas dan unik dimana masing-masing colokan RCA untuk input dan outpurnya mengadap vertical dengan warna mencolok (merah dan putih ) dan menggunakan gold plate yg sangat baik dan tebal
Saat dibuka komponen yang dipakai terlihat begitu BERKELAS dengan menggunakan 2 pcs travo daya (100V)
Preamplifier ini tanpa menggunakan control bass/treble (Flat)
Saat diproduksi tahun 1977 preamplifier ini berharga cukup mahal ( 200.000,-yen)..andai dihitung kurs sekarang seharga Rp. 20.000.000,-Tapi memang wajar dilihat dari komponen2 yg dipakai, seperti terlihat digunakannya potensiometer ALPS yg cukup besar dan mungkin skrg potensio seperti ini sdh tdk ada lagi,dan andaikan ada akan berharga cukup MAHAL.
